Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

We may collect your Personal Information using cookies, pixels, software development kits, and other similar technologies (collectively, “Tracking Technologies”) to collect and store information about your interactions with our websites and mobile apps, including information about your browsing behavior. In general, we use Tracking Technologies as follows:

  • When necessary to operate our Services (for example, for security purposes or to keep items in your bag)
  • To enhance the user experience, including by personalizing content for you, greeting you by name, pre-filling forms for you, or remembering your preferences (e.g., your choice of language or location)
  • For analytical purposes. For example, to help us understand how our website is used, to see what products most interest you, and to determine how best to market our products to you
  • For advertising and marketing. These Tracking Technologies collect information about your use of our Services to show you relevant advertisements when you visit other websites or use social media

Our Services use first-party Tracking Technologies as well as Tracking Technologies supported by our service providers and third parties, such as advertising partners. Here are more details on some of the main Tracking Technologies we use:

  • Cookies: Cookies are small text files that a website server stores on your computer or device. The length of time a cookie will stay on your device depends on whether it is a “session” or “persistent” cookie. Session cookies generally stay on your device until you stop browsing. Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or are deleted. We use both session cookies and persistent cookies on our websites. Many browsers allow you to adjust your settings to refuse cookies before accessing our website. Different browsers have different cookie-blocking features, so please review your browser’s Help Menu for instructions. You can find more information about how to change your browser cookie settings at allaboutcookies.org and cookiepedia.co.uk.

  • Pixels/Beacons: Tracking pixels (also known as web beacons) are tiny graphics embedded invisibly on a webpage that may be used to deliver or communicate with cookies, to count users who have visited certain pages, and to understand usage patterns. We use pixels on our websites or mobile apps to count how many users visit certain pages or take certain actions to collect or receive information from our websites, mobile apps and elsewhere on the Internet. We may use this information to improve our marketing programs and content, and target advertisements on our Services and/or other sites.

  • Mobile Device Information: When you use or access our Services from a mobile device, we may collect information such as your unique device ID and your location. If you download and use our mobile apps, we and our service providers may track and collect app usage data, such as the date and time the app on your device accesses our servers and what information and files have been downloaded to the app based on your device number, as well as any other Personal Information described in this Notice or specified by the app in its terms or notices.

  • Guest Wireless Access: When you connect to guest wireless internet service provided at our locations, we automatically log your activity on that connection, including the time, date, and duration of your connections and information that identifies your device. We use this information to protect our networks and detect potential unauthorized activities.

  • Analytics: We use analytics tools provided by Adobe, as well as other vendors. These analytics services may use cookies and other Tracking Technologies to help us analyze how you use our Services. Information collected or generated by these analytics services (e.g., your IP address and other usage information) may be transmitted to and used by these service providers for purposes such as evaluating your use of the Services and compiling statistics about activity on the Services, among other uses. This helps us understand how you use our Services so that we can improve the user experience and better tailor our marketing and promotions. You may exercise choices regarding the use of cookies from Adobe Analytics by going to http://www.adobe.com/privacy/opt-out.html under the section labeled “Tell our customers not to measure your use of their web sites or tailor their online ads for you.”

  • Session Monitoring: Some of the technologies used on our website allow us and our service providers to monitor and analyze how visitors use our website in order to better understand user behavior and improve our Services. When you interact with us online, information related to your browsing behavior may be collected by us and our service providers.

  • Online Behavioral Advertising (OBA): There are ways we use OBA on third-party websites and mobile apps that are not affiliated with Darden. We may also use device information, particularly in mobile advertising, to help deliver our ads and measure ad campaign effectiveness. Darden and the companies we work with may collect certain information when you visit one of our sites or see our ads. Compiling and comparing this information creates a unique ID for individual devices and can be “matched” to the same information on other sites or mobile applications. Some companies we work with are also able to associate related devices into households based on common characteristics, such as IP addresses.

  • Interest-Based Advertising: The third parties we contract with may use cookies or other technologies to gather interest-based information to customize the ads you see. This information may be combined and linked with data from other sources. We may also use aggregate data to display ads or content that may interest you. You can personalize the ads you receive or opt out of ads from Google by visiting the Google Ads Settings page. Additional options for opting out of interest-based advertising can be found here and here.

  • Do Not Track Signals: Our websites do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals at this time.

Online Chat Features

Our Services may include online chat features to assist with answering questions and providing you with relevant information. When you participate in an interactive chat, either with a virtual or live agent, the contents of the chat may be captured and kept as a transcript. By using an online chat feature, you understand that our vendors may process the information obtained through the chat feature in order to provide services on our behalf.

Our Retention of Personal Information

We will retain your Personal Information for the purposes for which the information was collected, as outlined in this Notice, and to the extent necessary to manage your relationship with us, personalize and improve your overall customer experience, and to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements or rights. Yes, all suppliers will be required to complete their registration and update their information in the Vendor Management Portal. You should also use the Vendor Management Portal to research invoice and payment status. You can also easily opt for early payment of invoices after a small discount deduction.

These refer to Darden’s early payment options. There are three ways you can get paid before the scheduled due date that is based on your payment terms. All of these options will be available to you with a small discount.

1. Accept via weekly email offer. Each week the Primary Contact will receive an email of all invoices that are eligible for early payment. The email offer will include the discounted amount for each invoice. You can select “accept offer” to just accelerate the invoices in the email or select “always accept” which will automatically set you up to accept early payment discounts on all future invoices.

2. Always Accelerate Cash – you can choose this option two ways. You can choose “always accept” from the email offer as mentioned above, or you can log into the portal and select “always accelerate cash” on the banking information screen. Both of these options will result in all invoices paying immediately after the invoices are approved by the restaurant managers.

3. Accelerate individual invoices to pay at dates of your choosing. By logging into the portal, you can select specific invoices and choose various dates from a calendar and choose specific dates to better manage your discount amount. The discounts are on a sliding scale, so the later the date that you choose, the smaller the discount amount will be.

After logging into the Vendor Management Portal, click on “Cash Management” and then “Accelerate Cash by Invoice” to review all eligible invoices and select those you would like to accelerate.

To view all eligible invoices, click “See All Offers.” A simple search screen will appear, allowing you to search for specific invoices that may be accelerated. Click the checkbox next to the invoices to highlight them, and then click “Accelerate Cash.” This will open a new window allowing you to review the invoices selected and the discount that will be applied to the payment.

You also have the option to select the “Always Accelerate Cash” option on your “Accelerate Cash by Invoice” page in the Portal, which automatically sets you up to accept early payment discounts on all future invoices.

No. At this time, only one person can be given credentials to maintain your Company information in the Vendor Management Portal. Our system cannot support multiple users per Company.

To change your payment method, log in to the Vendor Management Portal and click on “Update Profile.” Go to the “Business Address” section and click on “Remit Address,” then scroll down in the pop-up window until you see the “Payment Method” field.

Select “Electronic Payment” from the dropdown menu and go to the “Banking Details” section. Under “Banking Information,” select “Add New Record” and enter all required fields in the pop-up window.

Note: The Portal may require you to update some additional fields before allowing you to select Business Address or Banking Detail

If any of your addresses are incorrect, we ask that you edit the existing address rather than deleting it and entering a new one. To do this, go to the business address section, and click on the edit icon next to the address you want to update.

The Vendor Management Portal does not change how you submit invoices for payment. The invoice you may be asked to upload is for verification purposes only. However, Darden has recently implemented the Coupa Supplier Portal for electronic invoicing. Completing your Vendor Management Portal registration is the first step to get access to Coupa.

Since all non-food/non-beverage suppliers will be required to invoice Darden electronically through Coupa, we require a Coupa contact so that we can send you an invite to also register on Coupa.

Coupa is a cloud based procure to pay platform that enables suppliers to invoice Darden electronically. Coupa also allows for real-time visibility of invoices and payment status. Get Invited to Set Up Your Darden Coupa Account

Coupa will be used for Darden RSC/Corporate transactions and all restaurant locations. Please continue to bill the RSC/Corporate departments separate from the restaurant(s). When submitting an invoice, there is an option to submit the invoice to a restaurant vs a corporate department. We are rolling Coupa out slowly to the restaurants. Please refer to the rollout schedule found on the landing page of this website to confirm what restaurant locations are available to invoice on Coupa. Until the restaurant is available, please continue to submit invoices as you do today for that location. Once the location you are billing is available in Coupa, you will need to submit all invoices electronically and discontinue billing by any previous methods to avoid duplication or delays.

Invoice copies, while optional, are very helpful in answering questions and ensuring that invoices are promptly approved. Please attach using Image Scan.

No, Coupa does not impact your payment terms. If you do not have a contract with Darden, you will be paid under Darden’s Corporate Payment Terms — with invoices paid on the 7th of the second month following the invoice date (approximately 60 days). For example, an invoice dated between Jan. 1 — Jan. 31 will be paid on March 7.

If your company processes a high number of invoices with Darden on a weekly/monthly basis, you have other options than manually entering the invoices into CSP. Please talk with your Darden contact about the possibility of cXML enablement. If you don’t have a contact, email coupahelp@darden.com.

We would greatly appreciate your collaboration with Darden to begin transacting via the Coupa Supplier Portal as the process provides benefits for both parties. If you have concerns about your ability to participate, please contact your restaurant manager.

Please change your Coupa Contact in the Darden Vendor Management Portal and notify coupahelp@darden.com of the issue. We will then send you an invite using your email. All the historical transaction data will remain accessible. Some basic company information and payment locations/details may need to be updated in the new account, but most of the important information and transaction details are carried over automatically to the new account.

There is not a way to upload invoices through a spreadsheet via the Coupa Supplier Portal.

Honoring Our Communities and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

January 11, 2018

Darden is committed to community involvement throughout the year, but lending a hand takes on even greater importance during the winter holidays and leading up to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday Jan. 15.

Honouring communitiesFor more than a dozen years, LongHorn Steakhouse Managing Partner Leeann Pulliam has taken that commitment to heart in partnerships with local high schools. In December, the restaurant in Cleveland, TN, threw a holiday party for about 75 teens with special needs from Cleveland High School who receive job training at the restaurant.

The students enjoyed lunch, awards and a visit from Santa Claus, portrayed with extra flair by Server Brandon Fleming. He bought a large toy sack, filled it with candy and handed some to each child. “It was a showstopper,” Leeann said. “The kids went wild.”

Each of the students, accompanied by a mentor from their school, works regular hour-long shifts at the restaurant. They learn skills such as prepping food and measuring ingredients so they can find jobs after graduation. “They want to work and look forward to coming to our restaurant,” she said. “My team and I love seeing the light in their eyes.

"Helping other people is nourishment for the soul. Once you do it, it’s infectious and you want to do more. Every year my team members line up to volunteer their time so these kids can have a great party.”

Here are a few other recent examples of Darden team members giving back to their communities:

  • The Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen restaurant in Port St. Lucie, FL, collected 500 toys for Toys for Tots in December. Beverage Manager John Welch spearheaded the drive, but the entire team participated.
  • The Capital Grille in Boca Raton, FL, joined other restaurants to serve the needy a sumptuous Christmas lunch of turkey, casseroles and vegetables. Managing Partner Bobby Boribong, who provided mashed potatoes and beef stew, said the experience was humbling. Three hundred people dined on white tablecloths in the food court of the upscale mall where The Capital Grille is located.
  • About 100 people from Darden’s Restaurant Support Center (RSC) in Orlando pitched in. Both the Olive Garden and Communications & Public Affairs teams prepared boxed items and sweet potatoes for distribution at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The Corporate Tax team helped A Gift For Teaching by unpacking rulers and erasers, assembling lanyards, separating art supplies and tape, and organizing the store, which is free for teachers.

In addition, Darden restaurants donated 8 million pounds of food through the Harvest Food Donation Program in fiscal 2017. The Darden Foundation has awarded more than $86 million in grants to organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs and Feeding America. Darden also partners with the American Red Cross to help people affected by disasters.

Olive Garden Thanks First Responders with Labor Day Pasta

August 31, 2018

Thank you. Those two little words have a big job to do when it comes to expressing a nation’s gratitude to its first responders.

Olive Garden will make sure its thank you is up to the task on Labor Day. For the 17th year in a row, each of its more than 850 restaurants will deliver a pasta lunch to firefighters, law officers or other emergency workers in their communities on the holiday.

The Olive Garden restaurant in Scranton, PA, has embraced the tradition and delivered lunch to the same first responders for all 17 years — the nearby Dickson City fire, police and ambulance departments.

"We are showing our appreciation for emergency responders who are working to protect us every single day including Labor Day, when many people have the day off,” said General Manager Michael Mosiniak. “It’s important to pay tribute to these heroes in our communities.”

Olive Garden Thanks First RespondersPolice Chief Stephen Margeson of Dickson City said he and the other first responders look forward to their Labor Day pasta. “Everybody raved about the wonderful food last year,” he said. “Many citizens thank emergency teams who work 24/7 to respond to public safety issues, but sometimes, in the heat of the moment, people forget to express gratitude. We appreciate this recognition from Olive Garden and their very kind gesture.”

Dickson City Fire Chief Matthew Horvath said his all-volunteer department also appreciates the meal. “To receive a thank you and a delicious lunch, too, is greatly appreciated. It really means a lot to us.”

Each Olive Garden restaurant will deliver and set up “create your own pasta” stations with two pastas, three toppings and three sauces as well as salad and breadsticks.

Labor Day deliveries always bring a smile to Missi Setzer, Manager of To Go Operations Excellence for Olive Garden at the Restaurant Support Center in Orlando, FL. In previous roles, she participated in Labor Day deliveries as an Olive Garden server and supported them as a general manager.

“Every single person was extremely appreciative, grateful and overwhelmed that Olive Garden brought them lunch and thanked them,” she said. “It’s touching when you can brighten someone’s day. All Olive Garden is doing is taking them some food. They are the ones who are risking their lives to take care of strangers in the community every day.”
