John Fadool was named President of Bahama Breeze in July 2018. John, who is also a member of Darden Restaurants’ Executive Team, leads a company with more than 40 locations across the country, 5,000 team members and $246 million in annual sales.
Known nationally for popularizing many Caribbean-inspired foods with American consumers, Bahama Breeze is the casual dining restaurant that brings you the feeling of a Caribbean escape, offering the food, drink and atmosphere you would find in the islands.
Most recently, John served as Executive Vice President of Marketing for LongHorn Steakhouse. There, he spearheaded key marketing initiatives that led the brand to be recognized as America’s Best Steakhouse Chain by Nation’s Restaurant News’ Consumer Picks in 2013 and 2014. He also helped introduce the brand’s successful “You Can’t Fake Steak” television advertising campaign, and as a result, the company was named Ace Metrix’s “Brand of the Year” in casual dining in 2014 and 2015. During his tenure, LongHorn also received the 2018 Consumers’ Choice Award from Technomic for having the most loyal customers in the full-service restaurant segment.
John first joined Darden as Senior Vice President of Culinary and Beverage for Red Lobster. Prior to that, John was Vice President of Marketing -- North America for the Novartis Consumer Health Company’s Nutrition Franchise (Gerber). From 2003-2005 he was Vice President of Global Marketing for Novartis’ Ciba Vision, where he led a worldwide staff that handled a $1 billion portfolio of four brands.
John began his career at Procter & Gamble where he spent 20 years amassing considerable experience in engineering, manufacturing and marketing roles. He ultimately led the marketing efforts for the company’s Latin American operations, with responsibility for the $250 million Feminine Care Business. He also turned around decreasing sales at Luvs Disposable Diapers, and launched the award-winning Bounty “Quilted Quicker Picker Upper” advertising initiative.
John holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
Darden owns and operates more than 1,700 Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, Yard House, The Capital Grille, Seasons 52, Bahama Breeze and Eddie V’s restaurants in North America, employing more than 185,000 people and serving nearly 400 million guests annually.
