Q. How long have you been with Eddie V’s, and what was your first job with the brand?
A. I started as a server about a year ago in San Antonio, TX, and moved to the Eddie V’s location in Tysons Corner, VA, in March. I will stay on there as an assistant dining room manager with a focus on sales and marketing. I’ll work to bring more guests into the restaurant, getting out into the community and building relationships. I’m very excited.
Q. Why have you chosen a career with Eddie V’s?
A. I love the team member-centric culture. It makes me feel valuable and appreciated. I didn’t expect Eddie V’s to have such an effect on me. They coach, lead and develop people, so you have a sense of pride in what you’re doing. Michael Conway, my managing partner in San Antonio, was so positive and friendly. He shook everyone’s hand. And my managing partner here at Tysons Corner, Steven Zatarga, is the same way, with a genuine interest in people. That attitude defines where I am right now. I never expected foodservice to become my career. I earned a degree in health care administration at the University of Wisconsin and had planned to work in pharmaceutical and medical sales. But with Eddie V’s, you can really grow, and if you have ambition and passion, you can go anywhere with this company. I love going to work!
Q. Is there one Eddie V’s dish you can’t resist?
A. Crab Fried Rice with Mushrooms and Scallions.
Q. What would people be surprised to learn about you?
A. I am a huge football fan. I grew up in Wisconsin so the Green Bay Packers are my team. I’m a Cheesehead for life!
